PUERTA VALLARTA EVENTS - JULY

July 1 Canada Day. The Honorary Consul of Puerta Vallarta has stated there will be no official celebration out of respect for the presidential elections on July 2nd. There will, however, be a get-together for all Canadians living in the area towards the end of July.

July 2 Mexican Presidential Elections. No alcoholic beverages will be served or sold between midnight Friday night and midnight Sunday night except by special permit, including restaurants.

July 4 USA Independence Day 4th of July celebrations. An all-day, annual fun fair with food, music, games, contests, Orbatron mechanized ride on the grounds of the American School located across from Plaza Marina on the north side. Live entertainment including folkloric dance routines and Richard Kaplan, popular singer and entertainer, also known as "the Mayor of Margaritaville." Everyone is invited to partake in the celebration.

July 6 Paco Renteria will perform at the Camino Real at 9:00 p.m. sharp. This star of what has been called "Nouveau Flamenco" has already given over 1,000 concerts. There is no charge, and Camino Real will be offering a complimentary cocktail after the event.

July 7 7:00 p.m. Paco Rentería will perform at "Los Arcos" open air theater across from Central Palacio Municipal at the south end of the Malecon. No charge

July 8 Introduction to investing, on-line investing, choosing the right investment vehicle, option trading, mutual funds, and more. Seminar presented by Tio Tom. Cost: Free for introduction seminar only. Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (approximately). Place: The Net House on Ignacio L.Vallarta #232, downtown, south side. Reserved seating. Those interested in attending must call or sign up at the Net House. Can accommodate 10 to 15 people. A second session may be scheduled if more people sign up.

July 11 Legends and Traditions of Nayarit, including Huichol Dance and the Folkloric Ballet Company: Paradise Plaza, Culture by the Sea at 6:00 p.m.

July 13 Opening of La Petite France Restaurant’s Festival Vive La France with conferences, art exhibits, wine tastings, and dinners. Conference, Causes and Consequences of the French Revolution, presented by social studies teacher Janine Manzanares Deslisle. Takes place at 7:00 p.m. at the La Petite France Restaurant (located in front of the Fiesta Americana Hotel). This will be followed by a tasting ceremony of various French wines between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Art Exhibition by Roberto Bermejo. Cocktail inauguration 7:00 – 10:00 p.m at the Marina Vallara Property. Exhibition runs through August 12th.

July 14 France’s Bastille Day. At La Petite France Restaurant. Inauguration of an art exhibit will take place at the restaurant, featuring Puerta Vallarta artists Marta Gilbert, Edith Palombi, Ireri Topete, Rogelio Diaz, Francisco Sanmiguel, Ada Colorina, and Tellosa. Wine and cheese tasting will be at 7:15 p.m. The classical quartet Amadeus will perform from 8:30 p.m. accompanied by the piano of Salvador. Dinner will be served at 9:30 p.m.

July 15 La Petite France Restaurant: A Night Like in Paris. Manuel Felguerez, one of Mexico’s most famous artists, will hold a conference at 7:00 p.m. Wine tasting will follow at 8:00 p.m. Second concert of the festival with the Amadeus Quartet 8:30 p.m. on, with a different dinner menu. "Why Invest?" Seminar. 10:00 a.m. $200 pesos per person. All welcome. Reserved seating. Sign up at the Net House on I.L. Vallarta. Tio Tom
